WHO IS JAI G?
Hailing from the Midwestern town of Excelsior Springs. M.O. new hip-hop artist Jai G is poised to release his first album called " Edna Jean". It is a labor of love that is near and dear to the heart of the up and coming Palestinian/Irish rap star. In discussing his inspiration for the album Jai G states, “I was always wanting to release a project like this. I guess the catalyst was my brother passing away. He was always a bold person and didn’t care what people might think or say, so I wanted to honor him by really going for it and putting my heart and soul into something." The title of the EP is also inspired by his grandmother's name "Edna Jean".
On the album, Jai G's rap style is as unique as the rapper himself. He spits conscious rhymes aggressively with a tinge of a southern slang. No doubt his bravado must have been picked up from his time living so close to the dirty south and growing up as a fan of acts such as the legendary Outkast among others. In high school, Jai G even performed covers by the group and then went on to graduate into his own independent music career performing predominantly in Chicago, Los Angeles and Kansas to an ever-increasing fan base, while writing for the likes of genre hit makers Kanye West, Malik Yusef, Jeremiah and other famous well-known artists.
Jai G wrote and produced the majority of the " Edna Jean " with additional production work and contributions by Lamont “Logic” Coleman, Mindkilla, Solomente, Dep, Bianca Giselle, as well as Hassan Kaffaff, Carlos Figs, Bianca Acosta, and Courtney Graff. The album will be released through Think DeP Entertainment as Jai G follows up the effort with shows over the next few months scheduled for Chicago and LA.
He is currently preparing for who dates across the country while completing his full LP slated for a 2019 release.
